Tatcha Skincare Product Review | Is Tatcha Skincare Worth it?

Tatcha Beauty Skincare Photo

Beginning of the year, my skin was at its worse. I had dry patches, dry skin, bumps all over, pores, blackheads, acne, tired and sensitive skin. After a couple months of trying to figure out what’s wrong with my skin and my sister raving about how much she loves her Tatcha products, I decided to try out the Tatcha Skincare Line. (Read about why I’m transitioning to clean beauty here).

Tatcha is a luxury Japanese beauty skincare line. You can read more about their ingredients and process here

After 3 months of using the Tatcha skincare set I bought, here are my thoughts on the products I’ve used:

The Deep Cleanser: (Full size and travel size available)

Love love this cleanser. It thoroughly does a great job at cleaning my skin. I see my pores and blackheads have lessen over time. It has some beads in the cleanser that helps to give your skin an extra cleanse. Good for everyday use. Seriously love how clean my skin feels after using this cleanser. The cleanser itself is also quite gentle. It doesn’t strip my skin.

The Essence: (Full size and travel size available)

Love this essense! This has helped to brighten and clear my skin a lot! When I first tried it I only used it on half my face because I didn’t know what to expect and my skin was so sensitive that I’d rather break-out on just half my face than my entire face. But I woke up the next morning and the half with the essense was significantly clearer and brighter. I even asked my brother if he notices anything with my face. He said one side is clearer and brighter. So, learn from me: don’t use this on just half your face. I truly enjoy using this product. It’s lightweight, and it doesn’t irritate my skin.

Dewy Skin Cream Moisturizer: (Full size and travel size available)

This water cream is on the heavier side. If your skin is very dry, highly highly recommend this. If you have normal to oily skin, I recommend using this as a night cream because you’ll wake up with the softest, plumpiest skin! (At least that was my experiece). I use this cream both at night and the in the morning. I notice the rough texture and patches on my skin are gone. My skin also feels more hydrated and soft.

Tatcha also has 3 other moisturizer cream for different skin types so check them out here.

Ageless Renewal Eye Cream: (Full size and travel size here)

This eye cream is easy to use and doesn’t sting. Goes on the skin smoothly. I have noticed my under eye area brighter and looking less tired. The eye cream also hydrates my eye area which is a huge plus. I have the trial size and it is seriously one of the smallest containers ever, but a little goes a long way! It’s been a few months now and I haven’t used up my eye cream yet. (So don’t be fooled by the small packaging on the mini size).

Silk Canvas Primer: (Full size or trial size available)

I stopped using makeup for a few months now, so I can’t say how well this primer works under foundation. However, I love this primer even on its own. It doesn’t completely erase my pores, but it provides a light fill smooth canvas especially on my nose. When I want to cover up my pores or brighten up my under eye, I just apply this primer and it does the trick. This primer is so expensive and a little bit goes a long way so I recommend just getting the trial/mini size.

Luminous Dewy Mist: (Full size or trial size here)

I use this mist when I want to look more awake or when I want (or need) that extra glow on my tired skin. I don’t use this everyday, but when I do, I thoroughly enjoy it. The mist is also very fine and the product lasts all day on the skin. I haven’t used this with makeup, but I’ve heard it works well both under and over makeup.

Pure One Step Camellia Oil Cleanser: (Full size and travel size here)

This is the only product I bought that did not work well with my skin. The product itself does a really good job at clearing away any oils or dirts on my skin, it’s just that my skin reacts to the oil the day after, which is why I’ve stopped using it. I will be passing this to someone who can use oil cleansers because it’s actually a good product, my skin just doesn’t seem to like it. If you double cleanse and enjoy using oil cleansers as that first cleansing step, give the mini size a try.

Final Thoughts:

Tatcha skincare review

After using these products regularly I notice that when I do break out, the break outs are gone within a day or two which is great! Seriously been very impressed with the Tatcha Set I bought. I’ve enjoyed it a lot more than I thought.

Tatcha products do have a scent but it’s not very strong and it doesn’t linger.

Tatcha skincare is on the pricier side so if you’re looking to try out tatcha products, I suggest getting their mini sizes. Their mini sizes will last long enough for you to decide whether you want to commit to a full size or not. I bought all of mine in mini sizes.

Even though Tatcha is on the more expensive side I think it’s worth it. I will definitely get the full-sizes after I finish the mini sizes. My skin has felt cleaner and brighter, and I love the way my face feels.

You can find some Tatcha products at Sephora. Sephora doesn’t carry all the mini sizes or products Tatcha offers, but I think it’s a great place to start if you just want to try a couple things.

If you order directly from the Tatcha website, you’ll be able to find the mini sizes to almost every product they have. There are also sets and bundles available. You also get free shipping on orders over $25!

Have you tried some of the Tatcha skincare or makeup products? What are your thoughts?
