Where to Stay in Seoul | Sofitel Ambassador Seoul Hotel

Sofitel Ambassador Seoul Hotel is in Songpa, Seoul—a neighboring area of Gangnam. It is south of the Han River. Right next to the tallest building in South Korea, the Lotte World Tower, and Seokchon lake, where Lotte World Island is located.

The hotel is also right by Jamsil station so taking the train is a breeze.

A hotel located in the business and culture district, if you want luxury, quiet, nature, and a gorgeous view from your window—this hotel is worth visiting.

We stayed here for 2 nights and loved our stay. Here is my final review of the pros and cons.

PROS:

  • Right by Jamsil train station (close to public transportation)

  • Right by Lotte World Shopping Mall. Has great shopping stores!

  • Right by the Lotte Tower, Lotte Island, and the aquarium! (Literally, walking distance)

  • Right by Seokchon Lake. Take a walk around the lake if you have time. It’s beautiful and peaceful. There are also coffee shops and some restaurants along the lake you can enjoy.

  • Great amenities—has the basic amenities many hotels have, and what impressed me the most was that they were all already in the room, along with an extra razor, toothbrush, toothpaste, and sewing kit!

  • Quiet neighborhood

  • Interior of the hotel and the individual rooms is stunning

CONS:

  • The location is further from many of the tourist areas ie Gyeongbukgong Palace, hanok villages, Namsam Tower, and neighborhoods like MyeongDong, Hongdae, Dongdaemun.

  • The elevators going up and down can get confusing. (So just be mindful of that. But don’t worry, everyone gets confused lol).

Our Full Experience:

When we arrived, there is a receptionist desk by the front door. They took our luggage so they can bring it to our rooms. We, then, made our to the check-in reception desk which was on a different floor.

The check-in receptionist was super helpful. The lobby area is spacious and clean.

After checking in, we made our way to our room.

We loved our room! Our window faced Seokchon Lake and Lotte World Tower giving us a beautiful view.

All the staff was super helpful and willing to help.

Breakfast:

They have a buffet breakfast restaurant. The food was amazing! They had pastry, fruit, everything eggs, and even hot Korean foods. Definitely check out their breakfast if you’re staying here! (Again, if you can, get seated by the window! The view is gorgeous).

Gym:
They also have a gym. The gym is a good size. It has weights in one room, then cardio machines in another. The cardio machines face the windows which gives you a beautiful view!

Sofitel Ambassador Seoul Hotel is a beautiful place to stay. If you’re in Seoul, highly recommend staying here.
